| Greetings from Johor Bahru! Hope you guys are doing well. Hollywood is crazy.
Ok, we all know that. Normally I not a patriotic kinda guy, like going around saying " Malaysia Boleh" and all that. Just the past few days just got my red, white, blue and yellow colors going! I was watching one episode of Frasier last sunday, there was a scene where Bulldog said something about getting a new radio show showing during the mornings to Roz and Frasier. Bulldog said " I even came up with the slogan: Coffee, Eggs and Bulldog! " Then Frasier said " Sounds like some sort of Malaysian Happy Meal"....... When I heard that, I couldn't choose between whats more offensive: Bad writing or bad stereotyping. What on earth is a Malaysian Happy Meal?! Since when is eating dogs in Malaysia even a punchline?! I m a huge fan of the show because it has great writing, but on that episode, the writer Christopher Lloyd dropped the ball big time.
Another classic example was an episode of the animated series, the Justice League (the one with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc) when the Aliens was blasting Planet earth to bits. There was a segment where a news anchor told where the aliens were invading with a live video on the side. " They have taken over England, (shows a image of Big Ben wiped out by lasers), France (Eiffel Tower in the background with Aliens shooting everywhere) and Malaysia! (Nothing but Trees fried by lasers) Great. Our country has nothing to blast but trees! What did the Aliens want? Shortage of Palm Oil for the humans?! Or are they afraid of the Rubber trees?! Last I check, theres another countries with Forests! It makes a mockery of my country, saying we are nothing but a bunch of backwards, non-developed tree lovers! And trust me, you don't need Aliens to wipe trees out, we are doing a pretty good job of that ourselves! There is something Malaysian I am proud of to show you guys thats neither trees nor a Happy Meal: Its a comic strip from the Star newspaper called Kee's World by C.W. Kee . What I like apart from having good humor is a reference to the Malaysian life, which is something the other political cartoons could not provide. Anyways, enjoy and take care!

| Greetings from Johor Bahru! I went back to my home town, Miri, Sarawak last week for Jane's wedding. It was a typical Chinese wedding reception with a heavy dinner, old dudes singing bad karaoke, and the usual bride and groom. Fortunately, the wedding did spice it up with a few belly dancers. Everybody turned their heads to see them shake ass haha. After the wedding, it was bar hopping with a couple of friends till four in the morning. We hit Island, Chaplins, another bar and Cherry Berries, then finished off with great late night food, Sarawak Kolo Mee. A couple of days later I had to pick up my dad from Bandar Sri Bergawan, thats the capital of Brunei. Its about two hours drive but the killer is immigration closes at 10pm. With my Dad's flight at 9pm, it was impossible to go back on the same day which meant we had to spend the night. Anyways, my mum and I decided to check the airport out early in the afternoon then get some shopping done. When we reached the airport, there was a huge jam and nobody was allowed to drive near the airport. The next day, I found out why. Scare At Brunei Airport By Azlan Othman
Bandar Seri Begawan - A suspicious bag found in one of the rooms at the airport terminal triggered a security alert yesterday afternoon prompting the airport building to be closed, and staff and passengers evacuated. | The airport was closed for three hours resulting in the disruption of two departing flights and three arriving flights. Over 500 departing passengers were affected. The lockdown began at 3.50pm and eventually ended at 6.20pm after police ensured that thee contents of the bag did not contain any items found to be hazardous. Earlier, the police had examined the bag using x-ray and found something suspicious that could have endangered the passengers, airport terminal building and aircraft resulting in the closure of the airport. Some of the passengers expressed their view that they should have been given adequate information without delay. There was a long jam along the road leading to the airport after the police had cordoned off the area. First thing I thought was Holy Sh*t. All this time My Mum though it was the Sultan of Brunei arriving, but I had a funny feeling about it until I saw the article. It didn't affect my dad's flight directly since he arrived after the airport reopened. Touch wood.

Until then, NEW GUY |
